Beauty: DRAMATIC LASHES, GLITTERY LIDS AND POPPY POUTS FLAG OFF LFW W/F 2015

The most awaited event for every fashionsta in town—the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015—started with a bang, and boy, did the shows on Day 1 leave us asking for more! Sure, the collections were worth every woot in the audience but you know what truly had us cheering? The stunning beauty looks on the ramp! From colourful pouts to dotted liners, some of the biggest international trends came alive on the runway on the first day. And well, did it have the beauty geek in us satiated? Hell, yeah! Here’s looking at some of the looks that stood out for us.
Oh, how we love when newcomers surprise us! While the collections at the Gen-Next shows were a breath of fresh air, the makeup and hair on the ramp was a whole lot of fun too. We saw gorgeous makeup like never before—unapologetically fake lashes, dotted liners, OTT cat eyes and nude visages.

How to get the Gen-Next runway look:
Itching to try this uber-cute look? After moisturising, apply the Lakmé Insta Light Instant Glow Crème for the quickest and max coverage, and allow it to blend. Now move to the fun part—the eyes. Line your peepers with the Lakmé Absolute Gloss Artist Liner, which helps you make the perfect stroke. But for this look, make a thick cat-eye stroke and give it an almost retro-ish vibe; remember that this look is all about dramatic eyes. For the lower lash line, use the liner but instead of lining it up all the way, place dots just below your lower waterline. Lengthen your lashes with the Lakmé Eyeconic Curling Mascara. Keep the lips simple—just a hint of the Lakmé 9to5 Matte Lip Care in Coffee Command will work wonders for this look. You now have the best makeover ever!

A burst of colourful couture with stunning embroidery was the highlight of Krishna Mehta’s collection. But the beauty looks on this show were just as interesting. Glittery lids, coral-orange pouts and big buns took centre stage on the runway. Such a sight, we tell you!

How to get Krishna Mehta’s runway look:
Always envied makeup looks on the runway but never got it right? We’re here to help you! After moisturising, use the Lakmé Face Magic Skin Tints Souffle foundation that’ll blend like magic on your skin, hiding all your dark spots. Line your waterline with the Lakmé Eyeconic in Black but smudge it up just a little to give that hint of sexy on the eyes. For the eyelids, using your sponge-tip applicator, take the golden shadow in the Lakmé 9to5 Eye Quartet in Tanjore Rush. But remember that even though we’re using gold eyeshadow, it has to be a subtle look—so ensure that you apply just a hint of it on the eyelids and don’t cover the entire socket. On your luscious lips, apply the Lakmé Absolute Lip Pout in Tangerine Touch without going too dark. This crayon-style lippy will help you add colour on your lips as well as lend you full coverage.

Payal Singhal  had us wanting to steal almost all her garments off the ramp, but the beauty lovers that we are, we couldn’t help but fall in love with every model who sashayed the runway, thanks to the sexy hair and makeup on display. Wet slick hair, marsala lips and smoky eyes—sensuous makeup was big on the runway at this show.

How to get Payal Singhal’s look off the runway
Think sensuous makeup is your style? Go for this look right away! Start with the  Lakmé Insta Light Instant Glow Crème that’ll act as the perfect base for your makeup, giving you maximum coverage. Move to the eyes; use the Lakmé Eyeconic in Black to line the eyelid and the lower lid but smudge up the upper lid with a flat brush so that you have the smoky look ready on the eyes. For the lips, all you need is the sexiest shade in town—the Lakmé Sculpt Studio Matte Lipstick in Maroon Magic that works wonders as a dark lip shade lending you that sexy pout you always yearned for. Curl the lashes with the Lakmé Eyeconic Curling Mascara that’ll lengthen your lashes and leave them moisturised. You now look every bit a diva!
