DIY#BEST REMEDIES TO GET RID OF BLACKHEADS AND WHITEHEADS..

HOME REMEDIES TO GET RID OF BLACKHEADS AND WHITEHEADS

You might claim to love your skin but do you know how much stress it goes through every day? All the dirt and grime from the air settles on your skin causing your hair follicles to get blocked, leading to the skin problems you dread the most—blackheads and whiteheads! Yes, we know how those packed schedules leave you with little time to hit the salon even for a mandatory cleanup every month. So here are some easy ways to banish blackheads/whiteheads at home…

The real difference between blackheads and whiteheads

Blackheads and whiteheads are both clogged pores but their pore openings are different. In a blackhead, the pore at the surface of the skin is open. These pores are filled with oil and dead skin but are open on top. The skin is exposed to environmental pollutants that ultimately cause the bacteria inside the skin to oxidise and darken. A whitehead, on the other hand, is a clogged pore but here, the pore is closed leaving no room for air to enter it. Hence, the debris inside remains white. Moreover, whiteheads are a tad more sensitive than blackheads and are bigger in terms of size too.

Gentle exfoliation works like magic

We can’t stop underlining the fact that when your skin is facing the issue of recurring blackheads and whiteheads, using a face scrub should be the only promise you must make to your skin. As a rule, opt for an exfoliating scrub once a week if you have regular or oily skin and once in ten days if you have sensitive skin. Our super skin go-to? Brown sugar mixed with milk for dry skin or ground coffee with water for an instant pick-me-up.

There is no shortcut to moisturising

One of the best ways to keep your skin clean and free of impurities is by keeping it moisturized, and who better to do the job that the tried and tested Ponds Silk Cream Moisturiser. It’s soft, smooth and blends in perfectly leaving the skin supple and fresh. Moreover, it has a 24-hour moisture lock formula, which means your skin will be hydrated and nourished throughout the day so there’s no chance of impurities settling in. This product isn’t greasy at all so it makes your skin look vibrant and non-sticky.

Hydrate your body

You may have visited several dermatologists to find solutions to blackheads and whiteheads. But they’ve repeatedly told you one thing and that is to consume of 8-10 glasses of water every day. The science is simple—water flushes out all toxins in the body making your skin look healthy and nourished. If the body is dehydrated and your skin pores become clogged, there is an imbalance in the pH of the skin leading to bacteria storage in the body, which ultimately shows on your skin in the form of acne, blackheads, whiteheads etc. So drink up!

Exercise regularly for glowing skin

We’ve seen several transformations where a girl with problematic skin has improved her skin drastically by exercising regularly. Wondering how that happens? When you exercise, there’s an increase in blood circulation which lends your skin oxygenated blood—something that naturally makes the skin glow. Not too much to ask for if you’ve always wanted gorgeous skin, right?

Now that we’ve learnt how to get rid of those unsightly blackheads and whiteheads, put these tips to use and achieve problem-free skin!

DIY#5 BEST FACE MASKS FOR GLOWING SKIN#SKIN STORY

5 FACE MASKS FOR GLOWING SKIN

Every monsoon we all have the same skin story—our skin begins to react to humidity and dampness the result of which can be skin dullness.

This year however you can start the monsoon on a different note. Allow no more the skin dullness to wither away your shine and bring in the monsoon on a shiner note. Here are a few homemade face masks to help you…

Banana lemon and honey mask

The banana fruit pack is the best homemade face mask for oily skin. It helps exfoliate your skin, unclogs pores and gets rid of the dead skin and leaves your skin supple and shiny. The soluble fibers, calcium, potassium and magnesium content in bananas not only work on blood pressure and digestion but also work wonders on oily skin.

How to make this: To mashed bananas, add a tablespoon of honey and lemon juice and apply on face and neck area. Allow it to dry and wash off with warm water for best results.

Green Tea Mask

Rich in antioxidants, green tea is beneficial both externally and internally. When consumed with warm water and when applied on as a mask either way green tea is great for oily skin tone.

How to make this: Grind 2 tablespoons of green tea into fine powder add whipped yogurt, a drop of essential oils and massage the pack on face and neck for a minute and wash off with warm water.

Besan and turmeric mask

Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and healing properties while besan (gram flour) is alkalizing in nature and attracts the toxins that are lodged deep into the skin pores. Together their anti-microbial properties prove beneficial to our skin.

How to make this: To make this pack, mix in one tablespoon of gram flour with a teaspoon of turmeric, squeeze in lemon drops and some rose water. Apply the pack on your face, let it dry and wash off with water for natural glowing skin.

Papaya and oatmeal scrub

Again, rich in antioxidants papayas are a good source of vitamin A and papain which makes it work well for the skin. Also raw papaya paste is great to fight blemishes and pimples.

How to make this: Mash a slice of papaya and add a teaspoon of brown sugar and oatmeal. Apply and massage your face with it in circular motion for a cleansed, shiny skin.

Oatmeal and egg mask

Oats are rich in fiber and are known to heal and rejuvenate skin ailments like acne and blemishes.

How to make this: Mix in three tablespoons of oatmeal, a tablespoon of honey and curd each and make a paste. Apply on a cleansed face, let it dry and wash off.

Sandalwood face pack

Sandalwood is one of the most ancient and trusted healing agents for the skin. It is known to work wonders on acne, blackheads and skin eruptions but works best on dry skin.

How to make this: Mix in a tablespoon of sandalwood powder and half a spoon of turmeric powder with rose water and let it sit on your skin for 20 minutes. Wash off with cold water for radiant skin.

DIY#BEST TIPS TO GET A GLOWING SKIN#FACE MASSAGE EXERCISES

WANT GLOWING SKIN? GET A FACE MASSAGE

We swear by a rigorous workout regime when it comes to achieving that perfect body. But have you ever wondered that your skin could do with some exercise too? After all, post a long day at work all the stress and pollution can take a toll on your skin and show in the form of saggy, tired-looking skin. All of this can be slowly but surely arrested by way of massaging your face. Massaging your face will not only ensure that there’s enough blood circulation, which will enhance the delivery of oxygen to the skin cells making your skin look far healthier than before. A face massage will also relax you and flush out toxins from inside giving you happy skin! Want to know the ways in which you can give yourself a facial massage? Read on.

Deep-cleansing massage

This massage involves massage your face with cleansing milk/cleansing oil. We usually rub it on our skin to remove impurities and immediately rinse it off, right? But to ensure that there’s an increase in blood circulation, just use your two fingers to rub your face in circular motion with some cleansing oil. Start with your forehead and move to your temples. Gently move to the area around the eyes and then go towards the nose, cheeks, jawline, neck and chest. This will ensure that the troubled points are dealt with and there’s oxygenated blood flowing throughout your face. This means your dark circles will reduce, your puffiness will come down and the overall texture of your skin will get better. Hello, gorgeous skin!

Lifting massage

Think your skin is looking unusually saggy and loose lately? Well, you deserve a lifting massage. This massage will help the skin look firm and plump. Well, that’s because this one smoothens the muscles and tissues of the face. It stimulates the flow of energy and improves the elasticity of the skin while eliminating hidden toxins from the skin. To perform this massage, you need to choose a good lubricant like a toner or a serum that will get absorbed into your skin deeply. Dab the lubricant on a makeup pad and aim for the tap and release method while performing the face massage. Start from the chest and then move upwards towards the neck, jawline and under eye area. But once you move to the eye zone, just lift the brow and gently move around the eye till the brow bone a couple of times. When you go for the forehead, move up three times, beginning in the middle and then work your way out. Not too tough if you’ve always wanted younger looking skin, right?

Ice massage

You know how beauty experts often tell you to use ice cubes on your face? Well, it’s one of the greatest routes to glowing skin. Besides having a cooling and soothing feeling on the skin, this massage helps minimize pores and reduces the excess oil from your skin. Ice is known to improve blood circulation. All you have to do is rub the ice across the forehead, on the apples of your cheeks, under the chin and on your neck. The cold constricts the blood vessels and tightens your face up. We suggest you don’t apply the ice directly on the skin for too long because that can make the capillaries of the skin break. So every few seconds keep splashing room temperature water on your face to ease the process.

BEST YOGA EXERCISES FOR FACE#3 BEST FACELIFT EXERCISES

YOGA FOR THE FACE—3 EXERCISES THAT WORK BETTER THAN A FACELIFT

We’re all aware of the benefits of yoga and the good it does our bodies. But have you heard of yoga for the face? If you haven’t, then you’re missing out on a regime that can make you glow, reduce wrinkles and erase lines—and it does all this absolutely naturally with no chemicals or painful procedures! Minal Potnis, a certified instructor in Yoga Facial Toning (YFT) and owner and contributor to Aiyana Wellness, has created a revolutionary facial yoga programme that uses a fusion of Tibetian doctrines, Facial Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga, to give you a firm, smooth, and glowing facial appearance. “Face yogastimulates collagen production that keeps skin tight and makes it less prone to wrinkles. It helps relieve tension and stress from the areas we tend to squeeze and scrunch all day long. These areas include the forehead, eyebrows and around the jaws and mouth,” she says. Minal reveals three easy exercises to transform your skin.

The Eyebrow Stretch
  • Raise your eyebrows as high as possible as if you’re trying to touch the celling.

  • Turn your eyeballs towards the ceiling as if you’re looking at the ceiling.

  • Hold this for 15 seconds.

The Nirvana Eyes
  • Lift your eyeballs towards the ceiling.

  • Stretch and raise your eyebrows to touch the celling, stretching the eyeballs while simultaneously looking at the ceiling.

  • Holding the above position, slowly close your eyelids shut completely (This might take a bit of practice).

  • Shut your eyelids while having an inner smile. Have a tranquil expression while doing this. Be happy.

  • Hold this position for 15 seconds.
Do both exercises – The Eyebrow Stretch and The Nirvana Eyes – twice a day, 10 times each.

Benefits
This works on strengthening the muscles of the eyes. It will strengthen the lower and upper eyelids; decrease bulging under eyes, increase blood circulation to the eye area and smoothen any lines around the eyes.

The ‘O’ Exercise
  • Open your mouth wide forming an ‘O’ shape.

  • Fold your lips over the teeth.

  • Tighten this position and hold.

  • Now, smile and keep breathing.

  • Hold for a count of 15 seconds.
Do this twice a day, 10 times each.

Benefits
Increases the blood circulation, strengthens and tones your cheek, jaw lines and firms the lip muscles. Smoothens wrinkles.

DIY#TRENDSPOTTING#BEAUTY AND FASHION MOMENTS FROM THE GOLDEN GLOBES

TRENDSPOTTING-BEAUTY AND FASHION MOMENTS FROM THE GOLDEN GLOBES

A wonderful new season is upon us and before you assume it is the chill of the winter; we’re actually referring to the award season where the stars descend on the red carpet in their shimmering best! Our eyes were glued to the tele last morning as we watched the Golden Globes awards; making a note of the movies we had to watch and of course, fashion and beauty trends we had to try straight off the red carpet! Here’s taking at the ones the trends and their wearers who caught our eye at the awards ceremony...<

Contrasting lip

Rather than matching their lips, which is a no-fail lip look, a few stars upped their game by opting for a lip colour that contrasted their ensembles and looked rather ravishing. Eva Green brightened her nude lace number with a tangerine lip while Jennifer Lopez stunned with a burgundy lip to chicly clash with her flowing mustard gown.

Side ‘do

Side is the new front, as proved by the lovely ladies of Hollywood who decided to ditch convention and play it old school. It was Kate Winslet and Regina King who opted for updos with structured waves that stole the show while sitting pretty on the sidelines.

Feline flick

Affirming its place as an eternal favorite; the feline flick, with all its demure charm was spotted on Hollywood’s most stylish. Katy Perry aced effortless chic with a simple swipe of eyeliner as did Zendaya who complimented her minimal makeup with a feline eyeliner flick.

Slicked back hair

Adding a flair of edginess to their ensembles caught our eye with sculpted slicked back hair. Jennifer Lawrence let her outfit do the talking with slicked back hair to add sophistication to the ensemble while Malin Akerman opted for a centre parted slicked hair look for a tidy, clean cut finish.

Capes

While they are already making waves in the winter, that hasn’t stopped them from making an appearance on the red carpet as well. Not one to be left behind, the cape trend was incorporated elegantly onto the outfits. Emilia Clarke wore the trend on her sleeve with exquisite sheer lace while Lily James brought out her shoulders with a cape draped at the back.

Sparkle

It wouldn’t be a red carpet without it, owing to which, the event saw its fair share ofsparkle. Taking a variety of forms, the appearance of sparkle made its presence felt. While Rosie Huntington-Whiteley chose a shimmery fringe on her gown, Jane Wu went for a metallic slew of panelled sequins. Jenna Dewan Tatum sparkled in an intricately designed gown and Carly Chaikin opted for an iridescent play with sequin portions.

Shades of yellow

A colour that we don’t ordinarily associate with red carpet chic, the pleasants tones of yellow had us all nodding in agreement. Lola Kirke donned a grecian-like mustard yellow gown with pleats while America Ferrera amazed us all in a high neck embellished gown in canary yellow.

Pockets

Talk about utility merged with fashion! Pockets found their way to their red carpet of the Golden Globes within the folds of gowns and dresses. Jaimie Alexander had hers in the sides of her geometric gown, Olivia Palermo added charm with pockets on her abstract printed dress while Gina Rodriguez  tucked her hands in hers, situated within the pleats of her dress.

DIY#THE 5 BEST ADVICE FOR EVERY NEW ASPIRING DESIGNERSS

5 BEST TIPS FOR EVERY ASPIRING DESIGNER

Back in 2009 when I started my journey in designing, it was a road full of challenges. But I’ve always been passionate enough to turn these challenges into successes. This is not to say that I didn’t have stumbling blocks in my career—I failed at times but those moments only made me stronger and far more goal-oriented. I went on to win the Barbie all Doll’d up show at Lakme Fashion Week 2009 and ever since then, there has been no looking back. To see the fashion world appreciate my feminine yet wearable designs, has given me immeasurable joy. Precisely why I’m here to tell you how you, as an aspiring designer, can conquer the fashion game with your designing skills.

Know your style

My designs are an expression of who I am. I'm inspired but I don't imitate. I do what I do because I love it and give it my all. So it’s very important to know your style and not copy anybody else. Your collections have to look like they’re yours. A lot of people go in for designing because they think it’s a hobby but you have to understand that it’s a very serious profession. You have to feel very passionate about what you do.

Find your mentor

I was lucky to be able to turn to my mother, Neeta Lulla when I needed advice but you must have someone to inspire you, someone who knows fashion in and out. Also, it’s very necessary that you have a mentor who knows the business side of fashion as well because ultimately you’re selling fashion.

Create wearable pieces

My first show was such a disaster! I was really young back then and ended up doing a collection that was criticised. I was trying to be someone I’m not. I remember I had just won then Barbie award and after that, I did this utterly cute collection. It was only later that I realised that it’s very necessary to ask yourself if you’d wear the same piece yourself. Ask yourself if people are going to really enjoy wearing your collection. You have to know the USP of your label. I know that I want to do comfortable, versatile clothes that would look beautiful on different personalities.

Get inspired

When you’re doing something as creative as designing, you have to be inspired all the time. I personally love travelling so most of my inspiration comes from travel. Nature, picturesque locations, everything inspires me to create the kind of clothes I do.

Variety is the key

When you’re designing, it’s very important to create a variety in a collection—remember that different kinds of people with different tastes in fashion are going to wear your clothes. I like to keep neutrals, pastels as well as colour pops in my collection so I have a good range for everyone.

DIY#HOW TO STYLE YOUR SNEAKERS WITH DIFFERENT DRESSES..

HOW TO PAIR YOUR SNEAKERS WITH DRESSES

We could write superlatives about how sneakers are the best footwear ever invented but you already know that. They are possibly the most comfortable pair of shoes for women and with the rise of athleisure, they are no longer confined to being the shoes you pull out you when your trip involves walking.

With the types of sneakers available to the amount of sneaker inspiration we come across daily on Instagram, we’re dying to pull out our kicks and wear them everywhere. So if you are looking for outfit ideas to style your sneakers with all kinds of looks, here’s the guide how to pull it off.

Formalwear

No nonsense suits, straight lines and tailored fits are the cornerstones of formalwear. But the infusion of sneakers to the mix can change the game completely. Take a minimalist route for a work conference by pairing a single toned outfit of fitted trousers and shirt with a blazer and coordinated colour slip-ons, which will add cool quotient while being muted. The lady-like pencil skirt can get a revamp too when paired with a classic white shirt and matching pair of subdued sneaks for a business meeting. If you’re up for experimenting at the workplace, throw on a neon pair of sneakers with a dark toned ensemble and a neutral jacket, which will add the spark to any office luncheon.

Casualwear

The most fun category that is, we love to mix a little sportiness into our casual clothing. If it is a coordinated set that you are wearing for a high tea with your girls, pair a neutral pair of slip-on sneakers with a complementary micro bag, which won’t take away from the clothing. Heading for a sports match, are we? Then get in the team spirit with a printed t-shirt, worn in shorts and classic pair of all-star sneakers. For the times that you want to give your shirt dress a sporty spin like a movie date, pair plimsoll sneakers with it, which will go well with just about anything.

Partywear

When it’s party time, make sure you are in on the action to by including a glitter or wedge pair to the mix! The tutu screams femininity so give it clash by pairing it with a sweatshirt and bright sneakers for a dinner party that screams chic. For your next family brunch, give your dress shirt an uplift by simply pairing it with sunglasses and white sneakers. Look your best at happy hour when you pair your blazer and romper with a coordinated pair of high top sneakers and a red lip to add a spark to the look.

DIY#NEW LATEST TREND#SUNSET HAIR#TUTORIAL HOW TO DO IT

TREND ALERT—SUNSET HAIR

As beauty lovers, we’re always on the lookout for new trends. And when it’s a hair trend, there’s no way of it escaping our radar. Well, one of the latest hair trends doing the rounds on the beauty circuit is sunset hair! Here’s a detailed low-down on this fun trend.
What is the Sunset Hair trend?
Always been a fan breathtaking sunsets? Now you can have ‘em in your hair! We told you about opal hair, we told you about rainbow hair and now, we’re telling you all about the sunset hair trend. It’s basically hair dyed in shades of orange, yellow, pink and red so that it resembles the colours of the sunset.

How it’s done
This one’s a combo of painted highlights. Balayage, a technique where the hair colorist applies sun-kissed natural hair colour to your locks with a freehand technique rather than using the foiling method is used to balance out the brightness and tone down the colour and make it look natural yet attractive.

When you opt for this trend, the dye is applied to create a gradient effect wherein the colorist applies shades of purple to the root. This is followed up with strong shades of pink, orange and yellow—the colours that make your hair look like a gorgeous sunset. So go ahead, embrace sunset hair and try out new hairstyles.

DIY#FEST 2015#HIGHLIGHTS OF BEST TALKS AT LITERARY FEST 2015

HIGHLIGHTS OF FAVOURITE TALKS AT THE TIMES LITERARY FEST 2015

Woven around the theme ‘Enslaving Expression’ the Times Literary Fest this year saw many sessions and speakers, artists and writers exploring all kinds of artsy expressions. And while it is difficult to pick a favourite from the rather esteemed line up, we can’t help but be biased towards ‘Flit like a butterfly sting like a B’, an all women panel featuring Twinkle Khanna, Moni Mohsin (Pakistani writer currently residing in the UK) and moderated by their common editor Chiki Sarkar.

On day three of the Times Literary Fest 2015 when Moni Mohsin aka Social Butterfly and Twinkle Khanna aka Mrs. Funny Bones (both are social satire columns adapted into books), graced the stage it was all about wit, women, feminism, social satire and humour. And when two women authors of that stature, humour and panache take to the stage, we at Be Beautiful have every reason to cover it.  We were there in person, documenting highlights of the talk for our literature loving readers. Here is listing some…
Similarities, social satire and the sub-continent

Both Moni’s and Twinkle’s literary works are laced in a thick layer of satire. Both have touched upon the social issues of the sub-continent and stirred the national conscience in their own individual capacities. Their common ground being that they both hail from similar social strata, Twinkle Khanna and Moni Mohsin use their wit and humour to fight the tragedies of their respective nations.
Humour is serious business

“Humour comes out of tragedy and satire comes out of rage,” says Moni Mohsin on the complexities of satirical writing. “Mine is a fictitious column and my brief was to respond to the current affairs but sometimes my imagination is overwhelmed by the awfulness of events and in the face of such awful events I lose my voice because how do you make it funny then. I feel that my craft breaks down at that time.”
Humour as a weapon to awaken social conscience

Twinkle manages to tickle our funny bone almost every time but on using humour as a weapon to awaken social conscience she recalls, “Once there was apothole next to my house for months and I wanted to write about it and I during my research I realised we’d spent over 2000 Cr to fix potholes in the last few months and still nothing had happened. To make that relatable to people I had to make that pothole a human and named it Gattu after my ex-boyfriend who was also a pothole I fell into. So you have to find a way to make people find things interesting.”
Columns can trigger change

Moni Mohsin is positive “Yes, when a reader comes to me, identifies with the character and admits to honestly being that butterfly and puts away their LV bags then that is victory.”

Twinkle on the other hand believes, “My columns are about women and we might have different backgrounds and different economic situations but we deal with the same issues. So my columns are all about women, our responsibilities and though I don’t try there is a large side of me that has this feminist believe and I thing that comes across through my writings because it is part of me and for some reason I am always talking about feminism and menstruation.”

DIY#5 BEST TO GET UP FRESH#NO HANGOVER#BEST TRICKS

5 WAYS TO ENSURE YOU NEVER WAKE UP WITH A HANGOVER

The party season is here and while that means a whole lot of fun and drinks, it also implies a morning followed by a nasty hangover. As much as we enjoy ourselves while drinking with friends, it invariably makes us take the ‘I’m never drinking again’ pledge the morning after. But let’s be honest, we all know we can never quit. But what we can do is be a little more careful and take some simple measures while we drink it up. Here’s what you should do.
Alternate between a sports drink/coconut water

Sure, drinking water between alcohol is a smart move but what works even better is a glass of coconut water or even a sports drinks like a Gatorade. These rereplace your fluids and electrolytes, which are the nutrients you lose when you drink. So it is advisable to keep sipping on one of these drinks between cocktails.
Skip sodas

Everything tastes better with a carbonated drink, right? But this is the one reason you can suffer from a terrible hangover. Carbonation pushes gas and the alcohol through your stomach to your intestines. The problem here is that the upper small intestine is highly absorptive, which ultimately leads to a strong hangover.
Load up on vitamins

While there are many routes to a hangover cure, what you need to do on a daily basis is ensure that you keep taking your vitamins regularly. Alcohol completely destroys B Vitamins thereby reducing the nutrients from your body. Hence, it is advisable that you consume Vitamin B in the form of B 6 and B12 if you’re a regular drinker who often suffers from a hangover.
Don’t smoke

If ‘how to get rid of a hangover’ seems to be a question on your mind every time you drink, it’s time to ask yourself if you’re mixing drinks with nicotine.  Mixing cigarettes and alcohol can give you the worst hangover ever. This is because nicotine ruins the effect of alcohol, which in turn makes people drink more so they can get the buzz they love. Therefore, you must abstain from cigarettes while drinking.
Consume proteins while drinking

You may have noticed how drinking on an empty stomach has given you the worst hangover the next morning. To avoid this, consume something that fills you up right before you drink or even while you drink. Protein-rich meals can control blood alcohol levels and are also filling so you don’t overdo the alcohol.

DIY#CELEBRITY FASHION#BRIDAL INSPIRATION FROM BAJIRAO MASTANI#TUTORIAL

BRIDAL INSPIRATION FROM BAJIRAO MASTANI

As the end of the year draws nearer, there are many a thing that we forward to and one of them is the much-awaited blockbuster of 2015, Bajirao Mastani. The movie speaks of the story of Maratha warrior, Peshwa Bajirao I and his relationship with his two wives, Kashibai and Mastani. Besides the historical backdrop, we’re looking forward to seeing the screen light up with the two strong female protagonists portrayed by Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.

There’s a lot to take home from their strong personas as well as from the supporting role that Indian ethnic fashion has played in this movie, which serves as the perfect dose of inspiration for the bridal season.

Jewellery

Both the characters, Mastani and Kashibai are replete with heavy traditional jewellery which includes heavy chandbali earrings and oversized naths (nose rings.) Layered gold and pearl necklaces adorn their necks, traditional green bangles are worn on their wrists and their waists are decked with gold waist chains. Not to be left behind, their hair wears golden hair pins along with heavy statement gold rings as well. The resplendent use of heavy gold jewellery serves as the right ground for inspiration at a traditional Indian wedding, portraying culture and tradition to the tee.

Clothing

Set against the period of the Maratha Empire, both Mastani and Kashibai don costumes of the era mainly Navvaris i.e. the 9 yard Maharashtrian style saree. Sticking to tones of violet and red, gold is not solely for the jewellery as it plays a prominent part of the costumes in terms of embroidery work, prints and borders. The rich vibrancy of jewel tones is a right choice to make during the bridal season season since it exudes the traditional culture of the wedded while staying sophisticated.

Beauty

Depicting an era when beauty was au natural, the makeup conveys just that. The faces of Mastani and Kashiba are groomed and tidy yet completely natural with a gentle glow over the cheeks. The standout feature of their makeup is their on-point brows, which are filled and defined to perfection. The lips are played down in a natural shade of mauve and we cannot ignore the delicate bindis finishing their look. Wedding season doesn’t necessarily mean a heavy makeup look and with inspiration from the demure subtlety of the actresses look, you can go into the bridal season looking divine.
