THE DOS AND DON’TS OF EYELASH CURLING

Heated or unheated
If you’ve always wanted to know how to curl lashes, you must first decide if you wish to heat the curler or not. You can just switch on your blow dryer and apply some heat on the curler if you wish to go for a heated one. While this will help your lashes curl better, we suggest you avoid heating it if you happen to be an amateur. Moreover, there are lesser chances of you going wrong with a simple non-heated curler.

Prep your lashes
It’s best to apply some Vaseline Petroleum Jelly before you curl your lashes. This is because, Vaseline will moisturise your lashes as well as remove any debris/leftover makeup that often gets stuck in your lashes leading to bacteria build-up. Massage your lashes gently with Vaseline and then go for the curler.

Avoid putting mascara before curling
If you aren’t a pro at using the curler, we suggest you apply the mascara after using the curler. This is because the curler can stick to the mascara and cause lash breakage. Moreover, your curler can become a tad messy when you have mascara on.

Hold it right
We bet you don’t want to end up hurting your eye while using a curler. Hence, it’s important to position the curler right. Hold it towards the tips of your lashes and then go for it. Be gentle and pump and squeeze the eyelash curler while holding it still for a few seconds. This will help the lashes curl perfectly.

Clean before and after using
Remember than unclean curlers can lead to severe eye infections. Your curler is prone to carrying bacteria and you certainly don’t wish to pass it on to your eyes. So make sure you clean the curler well with alcohol or makeup remover before using.
