DIY#BENEFITS OF PUMPKIN TO SKIN#OILY SKIN PROBLEMS

3 REASONS WHY PUMPKIN IS THE ANSWER TO YOUR SKIN WOES

Goodbye, wrinkles
Do you wake up to creases and saggy skin in the morning? If premature ageing is getting the better of you, it’s time to fight this worry with pumpkin. Why? Well, this one’s packed with fruit enzymes as well as alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), which stimulates cell turnover—something that becomes a problem as you grow old. Moreover, it contains Vitamin C, which is synonymous with collagen production— the protein that gives your skin  firm finish.

We recommend: Prepare a pumpkin face mask.  Purée 1/4th cup of pumpkin, ½ tsp turmeric powder and 1 tsp honey together. Mix them together and apply on your face and neck. Rinse off after 15 minutes.

Fight oily skin
It’s not just the fruit that’s great for your skin, it’s also the seed that matters. Ask any fitness expert and they can go on about the goodness of pumpkin seeds. Well, besides being healthy for the body, pumpkin seeds are rich in zinc, which has the power to control sebum production. This means these seeds work like magic on those who’ve been waiting for a solution to acne problems.

We recommend: Keep a box of pumpkin seeds in your office desk and consume them in less quantity through the day.

Reverse damage of UV rays
We can’t escape the sun in a country like ours. But what we can do is treat our skin with care so it slowly but surely loses the tan and gets rid of dark spots that are both a result of sun exposure. Do this by way of pumpkin. Wondering how this helps? Pumpkin is rich in carotenoids like alpha-carotene and beta-carotene that can heal the damage done by UV rays and also give you your natural complexion back.

We recommend: Prepare a pumpkin body moisturiser. Take 1/2 cup cooked pumpkin puree, ½ cup coconut oil and ½ cup ground cinnamon. Mix them together and store in the fridge. Apply this just like a body moisturiser.
