Make your Valentine date special..
Elegance and comfort can go hand in hand in a Valentine’s date outfit, especially if it’s about making the best possible impression! Here are some ideas to look fantastic on your night out with your bae.
Heels, yes or no? The super short dress you wear on a girl’s night out, or the same black blazer you wore today? Full on makeup, or a natural look? And what about the hair?
Even though there are no rules when it comes to what to wear on a Valentine’s date, there are at least two things you should consider: comfort and elegance. Comfort, because as long as you feel comfortable with what you’re wearing and in your own skin, you’ll exude more confidence and feel more attractive; and elegance, because a Valentine’s day date is the perfect time to bring it up a notch.
And don’t get me wrong, being comfortable doesn’t mean not making an effort, and being elegant doesn’t mean head-to-to sparkles. So if you have no idea how to balance these two, here are some tips so you can achieve the look you want with style to spare!
Valentine’s date shoes
I’m sure your friends will tell you to wear the best pair of heels you have in your closet. The question is: Have you worn those heels before? Do you feel comfortable in them? Do they go with your style, reflect your personality in some way?
If they are brand new high heels, don’t even think about wearing them on that special Valentine’s date! If they’re new, you don’t know if they will be uncomfortable, if they will blister your feet or they will make the simple act of walking a difficult task. And that would definitely make a terrible impression. If you’re willing ti wear heels, make them a medium height and be sure they are wearable and not just cute. And if heels aren’t for you, ballerinas and loafers can look fantastic, or some bad-ass boots if the weather is too cold.
Valentine’s date clothes
Here, your classic little black dress can be of great help, as long as it’s not too serious or formal. Leave sequins and shiny fabrics for another time and let the focus be on you rather than what you’re wearing. A pencil skirt with those heels you’ve decided on can help you look more stylized. If you prefer pants, or you’re going to your Valentine’s date straight from other activities, try not to wear jeans: remember this is a special occasion.
Valentine’s date accessories
Choose some quality jewelry that can act as a focal point for your outfit: a great necklace, a colorfulbracelet, some unique earrings or a statement ring will be your best friends when it comes to making a good impression on your Valentine’s date.
Valentine’s date hair & makeup
As this is a special date, and probably at night, it’s okay to be a little bit bolder than you normally are with your makeup, while still letting your natural features stand out. A smokey eye or a red lip can make all the difference.
And finally, for the hair, a simple loose braid that gathers your hair in a relaxed manner can be the final touch to complete your Valentine’s date look!
