DIY#KAREENA STYLE#HOW TO GET THE LOOK—KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN

GET THE LOOK—KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN

We’ve seen Kareena Kapoor Khan looking great way too often so it was about time for a look decode. While she kept it basic with her bootcut denim and military shirt the hero piece was a simple and bright yellow tank top that made all the difference—be it adding colour or offsetting an otherwise grungy outfit. Here’s how you can ace her look...

She’s mastered the art of playing around with basics. Although all her pieces are simple she’s played it smart by introducing a pop of colour in her outfit with that tank.

Another important element of her look is her denim that flatters her curves perfectly. If you think the bootcut denim is not meant for your body type, you may pick one that complements your body shape in a dark shade of blue.

We like that she’s gone jewellery free, something that not too many stars do. Her statement sunglasses and blow dried locks make this the perfect fuss-free look.

DIY#SHORT SKIRT IN FASHION#LRT DIARIES#FASHION’S CURRENT OBSESSION WITH THE SHORT SKIRT

LRT DIARIES—FASHION’S CURRENT OBSESSION WITH THE SHORT SKIRT

One of the top fashion trends to hit the red carpet is short skirts and short shorts. At the Gucci Summer 2016 show, Salma Hayek looked beautiful in an above-the-knee A-line patent leather skirt. In recent events here many of the young and fashion conscious Bollywood celebs and models were seen in short skirts or shorts.

Bollywood stars Lisa Haydon and Jacqueline Fernandez have been spotted wearing this trend at a recent launch. While Lisa Haydon opted for a 1920s stylefringe skirt, Jacqueline made a bold statement in a bright red skirt. Other stars noticed sporting this trend are Lauren Gottlieb and Monica Dogra.

At the unveiling of the new Vero Moda collection, model Himarsha looked great in short shorts which also resembled a skirt (a "skort") while Gabriella wore a dress from her personal collection which was a mix of a short black skirt and a dress, with a fabulous pair of heels.

Try pairing a short skirt with open-toe heels to make your legs look longer as well as to make it look dressier. For a more casual look or for day wear, try pairing a skirt with brogues. Short skirts and shorts can also look great with ankle high boots. Remember, ballerina style flats are notoriously tough to carry off with short skirts and are best avoided.

LRT Tip: Your legs become the center of attention stands when you wear something short, so keep working out those legs and add a bit of shimmer or bronzer to ensure your legs look their best.

DIY#TRAVEL DIARIES#EASY WAYS TO TRAVEL IN COMFORT AND STYLE

EASY WAYS TO TRAVEL IN COMFORT AND STYLE

It may sound hyperbolic, but your choice of clothes can make or break your travel experience. Our pick of travel-appropriate clothing will keep you on the mark, whether you’re on a long flight or travelling by train:

Roomy Pants

The best trousers for travel are those which give you ample breathing space for long hours. Choose from harem pants, culottes, roomy shorts or loose-fitted pants. If you’re a denim girl, pick a pair of boyfriend jeans. Separates in solid, dark colours like black, navy, purple, or maroon can be paired comfortably and don’t stain easily.

AVAILABLE ON: stalkbuylove.com

Cover Up

Whether you are travelling by flight or the train, the AC might overwhelm you after a while. Make sure you always carry a cover up. A light sweatshirt or pashmina stole will keep you cosy no matter what the temperature around is. Besides, the warmth will put you into snooze mode faster.

Dress Up

Though they may not allow as much movement as trousers, dresses can make for extremely comfortable travel wear particularly for flights. Steer clear of body-hugging silhouettes or voluminous layering. Instead look for fluid cuts and light handlooms that sit lightly on your curves—midis are great for travel.

Comfy Shoes

Sturdy slip-ons with medium to thick-soles are ideal for travel. Comfort doesn’t have to come at the cost of style—a low platform combines ease and style. Wear closed shoes only if they are easy to slip in, like ballet flats or loafers. Lace-ups and complicated buckles can be cumbersome on long travels.

Modern Desi

Go ethnic and wear a salwar-kurta, a.k.a Piku’s Deepika Padukone. Look for loose bottom wear and tunic-style tops that won’t stick uncomfortably to your skin after a few hours. Update the look with a modern cut and you’ll stand out at any airport in the world.
