5 FAB & TOTALLY DOABLE SHOE MAKEOVERS

Shoe makeovers are something that we love! And, really, which girl doesn’t like to spruce things up in her footie wardrobe? Plus, a shoe DIY is a great way to strut around your art. So, this weekend unveil your creative side and give your shoes a makeover with our tried and tested crafty ideas...

Turn your basic white sneakers into a pop of party

Party isn’t about five-inch heels every time. Add in a healthy dose of comfort this time around. Give your your ensemble that lax-vibe by pairing it with basic white sneakers that are spruced up with some jazz. Take your favourite bright neon nail paint and create some wild stripes on your sneakers by taping sections of the shoe and painting the other parts in electric neon. Ta-da! Your party sneakers are ready to rock!

Give your strappy flats a dash of boho

Add character to your everyday brown or black flats with some colourful wool. Start by applying fevikwik to the strap you wish to add colour to and twist the threads over it to secure them. There you have it! A trendy new pair to accompany your everyday casuals.

Add a touch of festive

Bling is the solution to uplift anything snooze-worthy. Just stick or clip a brooch or a broken piece of jewellery right in the centre of your shoe and you have a glamorous pair to don at weddings and parties.

Vivify your sunday-casuals

Reinvent your daily pair of sneakers by dipping a small circular object in paint and stamping it on the shoe. Touch up any incomplete spots with the help of a paint brush and let dry. A new pair of sneakers is ready to rock your weekend and holiday looks.

Glamourise your pumps

Bored of wearing the same black pumps? Mix it up with some gold or silver glitter! Paint it on to your pumps to turn them into a glamorous and completely revamped shoe. Let the glitter paint dry and wear them with basics to don chic street style look.

STREET STYLE AT LFW—ACCESSORY ROUND-UP

Apart from the ramp, there seems to be a lot of style going around at the fashion week. Right from everyone’s most-loved tassels to the not-for-the-faint-hearted gladiators, we spotted a whole bunch of accessories. Here is some street style to get inspiration from…

Ikat on leather oxfords? We approve!

Nobody dresses down for fashion week. If you’re wearing the basic white and blue, you’ve got to up the ante with OTT gold gladiators.

Bring your layering A-game to the table, and no, we’re not just talking about clothes.

Tassels are all the rage on the ramp this season, and clearly, the audiences weren't far behind in receiving the memo.

Worn out leather will never be out of fashion, especially when it accompanies the en vogue tassels everyone’s being going ga-ga about.

Wearing the cross might have been a style statement back in the nineties but when its revival involves it being strung in a satin ribbon and paired with an off-shoulder chambray top, we don’t mind it so much.

Spotted on the ramp at Shruti Sancheti’s show, we were all set to get ourselves a pair of tassel earrings, but obviously, someone beat us to it. We love!

So apt for textiles day, that bag would have been a boring black satchel had it not been for that embroidery on it. An easy but painstaking DIY, this!

We’re still of the opinion that mirrored sunnies work best as mini reflectors for your Vespa but perhaps the aam junta doesn’t?

Yet another version of the Adidas kicks we’ve been spotting all over LFW.

Comfort multiplied by design, these make it to our list of LFW survival tips.

DIY#FASHION#STYLE#Going great lengths – here’s how to wear elongated maxis with voluminous trousers

Going great lengths – here’s how to wear elongated maxis with voluminous trousers

Last we saw knee length maxi blouses and trousers inter-mingling in the same ensemble it was decades ago. But the trend is now making a raving comeback, in some reformed silhouettes and we, like always, are scouting the trend for you. These elegantly elongated silhouettes and knee-length maxi tops coupled with cropped pants are one of the biggest trends of the season.

Slit maxi tops in prints and flowy silhouettes are the newest way to make a subtle yet edgy fashion statement. Pick these separates in polka dots or floral prints in varieties of slits and team them with slim-fitted pants to balance out a formal look.

If you are anything like us and are a sucker for all things pristine, then a classic white maxi blouse might be what catches your eye, making it the perfect way for you to embrace this new length. Available in various cuts and patterns these white silhouettes are perfect for an easy breezy brunch look.

I

This is the look that spells ‘art crowd’ louder than any other.  If you are big on black then go ahead and embrace this trend in all its noir-glory. A black maxi blouse in lace or polyester with string waist styling in a multitude of styles and closed collars are all a good idea when you have an evening event to attend, artsy or otherwise.

One of the many drool worthy variations to this elongated silhouette trend is the wrapped blouse in flowy fabrics and asymmetrical hemlines. You can also opt for Maxi tops in closed and cut way necks for a casual day look.  Pick these in easy fabrics that will let you breeze around in comfort.

Elongated shirts with collars are the more formal way in which you can ace this trend. Get a checkered-print shirt or a classic denim shirt and a side slit hem and sport the look at a formal do.

Knee-length tunics in varied hem lines and exaggerated cuts teamed with voluminous trousers are streamlined for a workplace wardrobe. Wear these in gorgeous shades of grey and navy and team them with silk trousers for an uber stylish chic look.

DIY#STYLING#HAIRS# NEW TREND#OPAL COLOR#KNOW ABOUT IT...

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE OPAL HAIR TREND

One of the best ways to change your mood and give yourself a ‘new you’ is by opting for some fun hair colour. Not too long ago, we told you about the rainbow hair trend, remember? But currently, if there’s one trend that’s ruling the beauty scene, it is opal hair! Curious to know more on this trend? Read on.
What is the Opal hair trend?
The opal hair trend is a mix of the silverfish grey hair colour along with the rainbow hair trend. It gets its name from the Opal stone, which is nothing but a mix of the pearl hue along with shimmering pinks, blues and purples. Not OTT yet rather appealing, this hair colour has taken on in a big way in the West and is slowly moving towards India too.

How it’s done
You basically use ash-coloured tones right before you go grey and that’s when you achieve the pearl hue. After you colour your hair into a pale pearl colour, you start adding layers of colours to your locks.  One of the main things your hair colorist needs to remember is to get the layering right while working on this hair colour. What you will finally get is a light version of the rainbow hair colour. The hues need to look different from every side. From one angle you’d probably see a pink while from another, you’ll see a blue. So if you’re the kind who loves experimenting with your hair, this trend is right up your alley.

Lob for short hair

Air-dry your hair after washing it with your regular shampoo and conditioner. When your hair is almost dry take a coin sized dollop of BED HEAD TIGI Small Talk lotion and apply onto the ends of your hair avoiding the scalp area, to add instant volume and control frizz. Comb your hair with your fingers to ace that naturally messy look.

Out of bed waves for medium hair

Wash and condition your hair before bed and let it air-dry. While still damp, divide your hair into two sections and take a squidge of BED HEAD TIGI Manipulator Matte on your fingers (to give it hold and texture) and start twisting each section tightly and pin it to the crown of your head. In the morning, open the pins and you’ll be taken back by a beautiful head full of out of the bed waves! Do not brush or comb or really even touch your hair, just simply secure withBED HEAD TIGI Foxy Curls hair spray for your waves to last all day.

Voluminous messy side braid for long hair

After completely air drying your hair, form a deep side part with the help of a wide tooth comb. Create a braid on one side and tease your hair from the roots to create oodles of volume. Gently pull out the sections of your braid to form an oversized messy braid and apply little BED HEAD TIGI Motor Mouth Gloss on your crown and braid to make your hairstyle look thicker and shinier all day long.
